Hungarian meatballs

I really love my many versions of this dish. The base is always paprika, onions, tomato passata, red peppers and sour cream.  I variously then add sliced chicken; meatballs; beef strips; or (my personal fave) chickpeas and sweet potatoes for a vegetarian version.

Sautee onions in olive oil

Add a tablespoon sweet paprika

Add red peppers

Cook until soft then add meatballs or other meat/veg

Cook until brown then add passata

Once this is cooked, stir in sour cream, carpet with a generous sprinkling of parsley and serve with rice or flat buttered noodles. I would have a photo of the end stage, but we were too hungry to pause. 🙂
