Post-Cowes Week. The Detox


Spicy Red Lentil soup.

Heat olive oil. Add finely diced onion, celery and chilli. Sautee until translucent. Add a couple of litres water, 2 crumbled cubes vegetable stock and two cups red lentils. Add dregs of leftover harissa paste because it is on the point of getting mouldy. (About 2 teaspoons).

Boil for 30 minutes.

Remember you meant to add a tin of chopped tomatoes and go hunting in larder.

Discover you need to go shopping and add chopped tomatoes to list.

Add tube of tomato paste.


Simmer for 45 minutes or so, cool and leave. Blend. heat before serving.

Add a dollop of soy yoghurt, chopped fresh coriander and a good squeeze of lemon.
